What DELE Exam level should I chose?

The level of DELE you choose to obtain depends on your objectives and on your general Spanish language skills. This certificate is very complete, as the different parts of all six exams involve testing reading, writing and speaking skills.

The level A1: The student can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly.

The level A2: The student can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance. Can also communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information and describe in simple terms aspects of his background and his immediate environment.

The level B1: The student can understand the main points of clear standard input. Can deal with most situations, produce simple connected texts, describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

The level B2: The student can understand the main ideas of complex text, including technical discussions in his field of specialization. He can also interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity with native speakers and produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on general topics.

The level C2: The student can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read. He can also summarize information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation and express himself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations.
