Cultural and Social Activities program

AIL Madrid complements structured classroom learning with the Cultural and Social Activities Program, 10 hours per week dedicated to learning more about the culture and customs of Spain, and getting to know the city of Madrid that little bit better.  Best of all, the program is included at no extra cost!

The program offers a wide range of activities which take place every afternoon during the week. The activities are held in Spanish allowing you further opportunity to practice and improve your knowledge of the language. Typical activities include classroom based ‘workshops’ focusing on pronunciation and learning expressions commonly used in Spain, visits to famous museums and sites in Madrid or tutorials on aspects of Spanish history or lifestyles.

Our Cultural and Social Activities Program is structured and guided by an AIL Madrid teacher. The learning is beneficial to Spanish students of all levels and bridges the gap between differing Spanish levels of our students.

The activities are varied to cater for our students’ diverse interests and include:

Guided walking tours of Madrid: Taking in the city’s famous sites such as La Plaza Mayor, the Retiro Park, Sol, el Palacio Real (Spanish Royal Palace), learning about the history and culture of the city as you go.

Visits to Madrid’s world famous art museums: El Prado, La Reina Sofia y Thyssen.  Discover more about the history of art in Spain with our experienced guide, and see a range of different styles, from both Spain and around the world.
