At AIL Madrid, we are well aware that accommodation forms a fundamental part of your stay in Spain. This is why AIL Madrid offers a wide range of good quality, reasonably priced accommodation to meet your individual needs and budget. Our Accommodation Advisor is always available to offer advice and assistance to help you make the most suitable choice. In addition, when you arrive in Madrid, they will ensure you settle quickly into Madrid life - whether you choose a Spanish host family, a self-catering shared flat, a student residence, or a hotel. AIL Madrid accommodation is:
Accommodation Options Spanish Host Family - Staying with a Spanish host family is the best way to develop your social Spanish skills and practice what you learn in the classroom. Shared Flat - For an independent lifestyle, AIL Madrid has shared flats available, all in excellent locations. Student Residence – Meet other Spanish and international students in university residence halls. Please note that between October and June (term time) the student residence is only available for periods of four weeks or more. Hotel – AIL Madrid can arrange 3 and 4 star hotel accommodation to suit your budget, all within easy reach of our school.
Spanish Host Family Living with a Spanish host ("homestay") family is a great way to experience life in Madrid, learn more about Spanish culture, and of course, an additional opportunity to improve your Spanish. Staying with a Spanish family allows you to be totally immersed into the Spanish lifestyle and customs in a relaxed and comfortable environment conducive to study. Students should be prepared to adapt to the rules and ways of life of the Spanish family (such as meal times) but you will be given your own keys so you are free to come and go as you please. Guests are prohibited and breakfast and either lunch or dinner are included. Host families can be couples or single people, with or without children. AIL Madrid’s Accommodation Advisors will ask you to complete a questionnaire two weeks prior to your arrival. This will allow us to identify your preferences and dislikes (such as smoking, pets, young children) and enable us to ensure you are placed with a suitable Spanish family. If a student is unhappy in a host family for whatever reason, they will be moved, no questions asked. ![]() Shared Flat AIL Madrid recommends shared flats for students who want a more independent lifestyle and prefer to cook for themselves. The apartments are simply-furnished and are located in pleasant residential areas of Madrid. Living in a shared flat is a wonderful way to meet other international students, travelers and working people. The flats are shared by 3 to 6 people. Student Residence AIL Madrid recommends this accommodation for independent students who would like to meet other young people and live in a stimulating and fun environment. Many of the other students in this residence are Spanish so it is also a really good opportunity to learn more about the culture and practice your Spanish. The residences are centrally located and less than 20 minutes from our school by metro. Breakfast and dinner are included. Internet is available for free in every room. You will be provided with your own building keys so there is no curfew. Double rooms are available if you are booking with another person. There is a weekly laundry service and your room will be cleaned daily. The general rules are:
