What we do

Our highly selective university pathway program will ease you through the process of enrolling in a Spanish University. If you are accepted on the program, we will give you all the administrative support you need as well as preparation for the exams. This includes an intensive Spanish course, entrance exam preparation, a student visa, and ongoing advice and assessment.

How it works

AIL Madrid is a top Spanish language academy offering a wide variety of classes to students of all levels. We are partnered with one of the most exclusive preparatory academies in Madrid and, together, we will ensure you get the highest possible score on the Spanish university entrance exams. If you successfully complete our pre-entry requirements, we offer you a choice of five study options designed to fit your specific needs and maximize your performance in the University entry exams:

• Complete Program Plus (14 months): You will begin with a 6 month intensive Spanish program with AIL Madrid. Having reached the required B1 level, you then begin an 8 months course with our partner school on the specific exams you need to pass to gain entrance to a Spanish university. In addition, you will keep on taking Spanish class either in the weekend or the afternoon during your 8 months University preparation course.
• Complete Program (14 months): This will take you all the way through the process. You will begin with a 6 month intensive Spanish program with AIL Madrid. Having reached the requisite B1 level, you then begin an 8 month course with our partner school on the specific exams you need to pass to gain entrance to a Spanish university.
• The Fast Track Program (11 months): For ambitious students looking to complete the process in the quickest possible time. As with the Classic Program this option starts with 6 months of Spanish at AIL Madrid but then condenses the study with our partner school into 5 months to prepare for the entrance exams.
• The Parallel Program (8 months): For students who already have a B1 level of Spanish. This option allows you to go straight into the entrance exam preparation classes at our partner school while continuing to perfect your Spanish with weekend, or evening classes at AIL Madrid.
• Just Access + advisory (5 - 8 months): For students who already have at least a B2 level of Spanish and who therefore only need to prepare for the University entrance exams. This consists of 5 or 8 months of preparation for the relevant exams as well as all the necessary advice and guidance.

You can also optimize your progress by signing up for individual lessons with AIL Madrid. These are fully personalized and can help you work on weak points, or areas of special interest.

We understand that coming to a new country for your higher education is a big step and we want to make sure that you have the best experience possible. We will serve as your sole multi-lingual information source to make the whole procedure as painless as possible. We can tell you exactly which exams you need to take according to your chosen subject and when you register for your exams you will also submit one simple form indicating your preferred universities so that you can be paired with the best matches, based on your scores. And then, voila! You are a Spanish university student!

We have streamlined the whole process into four easy steps, to eliminate confusing communications with all the different administration offices. To begin your journey, simply get in contact with us and we will guide you.

1. Complete the interview process: To gain acceptance to our program, you should have a valid high school diploma, which we will help you translate into the Spanish system once you’re here. You will also need a love of the Spanish language!
2. Apply for your student visa (non-EU /Schengen nationals only): this process involves lots of paperwork and details but we have been through it hundreds of times and know how to make it as easy as possible. Comprehensive instructions to avoid errors are impossible to find online but AIL Madrid has the system down! We will guide you step by step through the process and you’ll never feel overwhelmed. Your initial visa with us is valid for a year and can easily be extended to cover your university course once you are here in Madrid.
3. Select your exams: We will place you in the preparatory course in Madrid that will guarantee your chances of success in your chosen program. The specific exams you need to take will depend on your subject of choice and your educational background. For example, if you want to enter medical school, you will need to take an exam in biology, chemistry, etc. We will give you a personal assessment and let you know exactly which courses you need for entrance to your preferred university program. 4. Move to Madrid! AIL Madrid offers airport pickup (if you or your child is traveling here without a chaperone), as well as a variety of approved housing options for you to choose from. Madrid is well connected by air and rail, so you and your family will be able to visit each other as often and as affordably as possible. Welcome to the next chapter of your life!
