Super Special Holiday Courses: a teacher’s view

Hi there!

I'm Edu and I’d like to tell you about our Super Special Holiday Courses.

We offer extraordinary courses for those special, super fun times of the year! If you're looking for an adventure this Christmas, Halloween, or Easter, join us for one of the best holidays (in both senses of the word) of your life! These courses are a fantastic way to learn Spanish and get to know Madrid at its best- and AIL Madrid is the only school in the city that makes up the course time lost on bank holidays by extending your classes during the rest of the week! Select your double-holiday here, and book now:

Christmas Spanish Course

Learn Spanish at this magical time of the year in Madrid! The say “from Madrid to heaven” and that's never truer than at Christmas! The whole city seems to sparkle as winding, narrow streets, and broad sweeping avenues are lit up with a thousand twinkling lights. All roads seem to lead to the traditional Christmas markets, the scent of roasted chestnuts heavy in the air. Children, groups of friends, and couples, run excitedly towards the ice rink set up between the majestic opera house and the royal palace, while giant Christmas trees stand proud in the city’s main squares. Then there’s the many tasty seasonal treats (turrón, Roscon de Reyes, chocolate and churros) which like all good Madrileños the AIL team hoard in preparation for weeks ahead of celebration! The school is decked out, energy levels are stratospheric, and learning Spanish is more fun than ever! And in January, it gets even better! The Three King’s Parade, the highlight of the traditional Spanish Christmas, takes over the city on the evening of January 5th, and then the craziest, most incredible sales of the year begin in shops all over Madrid.

Easter Spanish Course

Easter is a special time in Spain, and discovering the ancient traditions of Semana Santa (The Holy Week) while learning the language makes for a unique experience! A heady mix of concerts, exhibitions, colorful yet solemn processions, and scrumptious Easter sweets such as torrijas or huesos de santo (saint’s bones!) makes this the perfect time to visit Madrid. Enjoy Spanish classes with special themed activities, and workshops dedicated to discussing the rich traditions of Easter week, followed by a full day of immersion in the event itself. The weather this time of year is perfect for strolls in spring clothing through the glorious Retiro park, or even a quick weekend trip to the beach!

Halloween: the spookiest Spanish course around!

Madrid turns a special, vibrant yellow around this time of year as the leaves begin to fall, though the days are still warm and sunny. The Madrileños take to Halloween with incredible energy! It’s a day the city loves just as much as the traditional All Saints Day (for which they have special, donut style cookies). Madrid loves a party and at no time more than Halloween as the city throws itself into concerts, costume competitions, all things ghoulish! At AIL, we turn the reception into a mini haunted house so expect to see everyone dressed up, from teachers and team members to students and friends! It’s a week you won’t want to miss, so book your course now!
