Christmas Spanish Course

Learn Spanish at this magical time of the year in Madrid! The say “from Madrid to heaven” and that's never truer than at Christmas! The whole city seems to sparkle as winding, narrow streets, and broad sweeping avenues are lit up with a thousand twinkling lights. All roads seem to lead to the traditional Christmas markets, the scent of roasted chestnuts heavy in the air. Children, groups of friends, and couples, run excitedly towards the ice rink set up between the majestic opera house and the royal palace, while giant Christmas trees stand proud in the city’s main squares. Then there’s the many tasty seasonal treats (turrón, Roscon de Reyes, chocolate and churros) which like all good Madrileños the AIL team hoard in preparation for weeks ahead of celebration! The school is decked out, energy levels are stratospheric, and learning Spanish is more fun than ever! And in January, it gets even better! The Three King’s Parade, the highlight of the traditional Spanish Christmas, takes over the city on the evening of January 5th, and then the craziest, most incredible sales of the year begin in shops all over Madrid.

Easter Spanish Course

Easter is a special time in Spain, and discovering the ancient traditions of Semana Santa (The Holy Week) while learning the language makes for a unique experience! A heady mix of concerts, exhibitions, colorful yet solemn processions, and scrumptious Easter sweets such as torrijas or huesos de santo (saint’s bones!) makes this the perfect time to visit Madrid. Enjoy Spanish classes with special themed activities, and workshops dedicated to discussing the rich traditions of Easter week, followed by a full day of immersion in the event itself.
