The National Day of Spain is held annually on October 12th and it commemorates the anniversary of Christopher Columbus' first arrival in the Americas. Madrid is one of the most active cities in celebrating this date, and there are several exciting events throughout the day. Some of the most popular are the military parade and the fighter jet exhibition, which paint the sky with the colors of the Spanish flag. At the end of the day, there is also always a wonderful lighting display at the Royal Palace. It is a very special day in the Spanish calendar.On this day, the school will be closed and classes will be rescheduled.
